Pepe jeans were born in Portobello Road, London in 1973 thanks to the inspiration of a young man, Nitan Shah, who decided to manufacture jeans with original labels. Two years later, the brothers Shah, Nitin, Arun and Milan were the owners of several jeans stores in London and set up the company PEPE (UK) LTD which was the market leader in jeans for the 1980’s.

The success of the PEPE JEANS brand is due to a number of different factors, one of which is the solid brand positioning which always has London as a point of reference. This can be seen for example in the very extensive and elaborate collections, with garments that set the latest fashion trends.

The designers may have different nationalities, but one thing that they all have in common is that London provides the inspiration for the garments.
